Our journey began at Miniatürk, a sprawling open-air miniature park spanning approximately 60,000 square meters. Here, you discovered over a hundred exquisitely detailed models of historical and cultural landmarks from across Turkey and the world, all scaled at 1:25, from Hagia Sophia to the Blue Mosque. It was a perfect start, offering a panoramic preview of the wonders awaiting you.
From the miniature world, we stepped into the vibrant labyrinth of the Grand Bazaar, a monumental market that forms the grand finale of the historical Suriçi peninsula route. With around 4,000 shops along its 60-odd covered streets, it truly felt like a memory palace. We delved into its ancient heart, seeking out the old bedesten, the fireproof stone vault where Istanbul's most precious goods were once safeguarded, a testament to centuries of bustling trade and history.
